DC FanDome 2021 Recap: Suicide Squad Gets Brand New Story Trailer Highlighting Task Force X’s Origins

During yesterday’s DC FanDome 2021 livestream (watch the recap here), Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a story trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, focusing on the origins of Amanda Waller’s Task Force X a.k.a. the Suicide Squad. Watch the trailer below.

Suicide Squad tasks Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark with taking down The Justice League. The game features an original narrative and an “expansive” open-world Metropolis. A fresh overview provided by WB Games reads:

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and DC Super Heroes who are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect. All the while, the squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showcases Rocksteady Studios’ ability to combine masterful storytelling and compelling gameplay based on well-known DC characters,” WB Games said in August 2020. “The team is creating a genre-defining experience that brings the formidable Suicide Squad to life in a way that has never been done before.”

“Our team is excited to officially announce Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and provide a glimpse into our latest project,” added Sefton Hill, Creative Director and Co-founder of Rocksteady Studios. “We’re introducing an original take on the Suicide Squad that combines the rich, character-driven storytelling Rocksteady is known for with innovative gameplay features to create a unique gaming experience.”
