COD Modern Warfare Warzone Sequel

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Sequel and COD Warzone 2 Confirmed

This year’s Call of Duty game has been confirmed as a sequel to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot in 2019. The game will also come with a brand new COD: Warzone experience that’s being designed alongside the Modern Warfare sequel “from the ground-up”, confirming the rumors that have been circulating since September.

Will the new game be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?

Call of Duty 2022’s official name has not been revealed, just that it will be “a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019”. There will also be a new Warzone experience although we don’t know if that will be called Call of Duty: Warzone 2 either. We do know the games are being designed together by Infinity Ward and they’ll be built on a new engine. Warzone will have “a massive evolution of Battle Royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode”.

In the meantime, Raven Software also revealed what they’ve got coming up for Warzone Pacific. They’ve confirmed PS5 and PS4 players will not get FOV sliders because it severely impacts the performance of the game on PS4 and therefore the cross-play balance. They’ve also confirmed the Season Two patch will have over 30 improvement, including in all forms of movement. Later on in the season, the team will finally be addressing the issue preventing players from being able to play Modern Warfare’s multiplayer modes and invisible operator skins. You can find more details on these improvements on the Call of Duty website.

In other news, Visual Concepts is making an “unannounced open world driving game with a major license” and this has sparked rumors that a Midnight Club revival could be imminent. Elsewhere, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold more than 20 million copies since its release on PS4 and PC. Players have also accumulated more than 1 billion hours played.
