Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 Ad Puts The Last of Us’ Bella Ramsey in the Driver’s Seat

Bella Ramsey played Ellie in HBO’s The Last of Us, but now she’s gone behind the wheel in the latest Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 ad that highlights the headset and Polyphony Digital’s acclaimed racing game from 2022.

The Bella Ramsey Gran Turismo 7 PSVR2 video mixes two PlayStation worlds

The video cheekily posits that Ramsey is using the game to prepare for her driving exam, but the disclaimer makes it clear that the Gran Turismo 7 VR mode isn’t a substitute for a real-life driving instructor. The other disclaimers at the end also point out that Sony doesn’t condone driving 80 kilometers per hour in a zone with a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour or, strangely, bribing. It’s unclear if Ramsey will do other PSVR2 ads or even, say, one for The Last of Us Part I, the latter of which she’d obviously have a greater connection to.

While nearly three months from its launch, Gran Turismo 7’s free VR mode was regarded well and often cited as one of the high marks of PSVR2’s launch. Polyphony is still updating the game even after the new mode, as it just added support for 120 frames per second and VRR in March.
