A fan favorite PS4 action adventure game is 85% off in a limited-time PS Store deal, and two of its DLC packs are available for free. 2016’s Watch Dogs 2 is just $7.49 until July 17, and a free trial is available for those who are still on the fence. The game runs well on PS5 via backwards compatibility.
Watch Dogs 2 PS Store deal comes amid rumor that the series is dead
Although Watch Dogs 2 is a sequel to the 2014 game, it’s a departure from its predecessor in that it’s more vibrant and light-hearted. The first game was dark and gritty. Nevertheless, both games garnered a cult following and are much loved to this day.
Unfortunately, the third game in the series, Watch Dogs: Legion, didn’t quite have the same impact, leading to a lackluster commercial reception. Reliable leakers have claimed that the series is dead, and Ubisoft currently has no plans to revive the IP.
As for the free DLC, the ScoutXpedition Mission and Private Eye Customization Pack can both be downloaded for free. The latter includes clothing and custom paint job for vehicles.
The ScoutXpedition Mission has players “cruising through the streets of San Francisco as you take a movie location scout to some of the city’s most iconic locations.”
