Square Enix confirms new Life is Strange coming in 2026

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the official Life is Strange account, a teaser video is shown saying, “Life is Strange returns in 2026.” We then see what looks like the series’ lead, Max Caufield, walk across the screen, which reveals the livestream date of January 20. The end stinger is a second character who walks into the center, back turned towards the viewer, giving us a view of their jacket, which sports a bird spreading their wings. This is teasing the return of Chloe Price, Max’s best friend from the first game.

The upcoming Life is Strange game will be formally revealed during the January 20 livestream, which begins at 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT / 7 p.m. CET.

Earlier this month, a PEGI listing appeared, revealing the title Life is Strange: Reunion. The description stated that Chloe would return and reunite with her best friend, Max. This tease essentially confirms everything from the listing.

Here is the description from the PEGI listing, which has since been removed:

“Chloe Price was Max Caulfield’s partner in time… Losing her is Max’s greatest regret. Now Chloe has come to Caledon University. Haunted by nightmares and impossible memories, Chloe needs Max’s help. But Max is already in crisis: in three days, a deadly inferno will destroy the campus.”

The last entry of the series was Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which marked Max’s return. In a review from our sister site ComingSoon, it was given a 7 out of 10.
