Underrated PS4 Remake Gets PS5 Release Date

An underrated PS4 platformer remake is making its way to PS5 in the very near future. Developer Playful and publisher PQube announced New Super Lucky’s Tale is coming to the latest PlayStation platform in a couple of months, and will take advantage of its unique features.

When is New Super Lucky’s Tale release date for PS5?

As revealed in the brand new trailer, New Super Lucky’s Tale is coming to PS5 on March 26. Players who already own the PS4 version can purchase an upgrade for $4.99. The full price for the PS5 version was not unveiled, but since the PS4 version costs $29.99 digitally, players can expect to pay between $29.99 and $39.99 for the PS5 port. A physical PS5 version will also release alongside the digital release.

The PS5 version of New Super Lucky’s Tale can run up to 120 frames per second at a 4K resolution if players have a compatible display. It will also use the DualSense controller features to “add texture to the experience, letting players feel Lucky’s actions as they jump, spin, explore and uncover secrets along the way.”

New Super Lucky’s Tale is the third game in the franchise starring the titular fox. The series began in 2016 with the virtual reality game, Lucky’s Tale. In 2017, Lucky’s first non-VR release, Super Lucky’s Tale, was released for Xbox One and PC. Then in 2019, Playful expanded Lucky’s reach with New Super Lucky’s Tale, which is essentially a remake of the 2017 game. It was released for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, and Xbox One.

When New Super Lucky’s Tale was originally released in 2019, it received decent reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 76. Players seem to share this same sentiment as Steam reviews are “Overwhelmingly Positive.”
