Developer Bloober Team has been teasing a mysterious project since last month. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, some fans believe the company is teasing a revival of a controversial PS2 game that was originally released in 2006.
What is Bloober Team teasing?
Bloober Team’s mysterious countdown site, RemosdNeulSerorehsoOvamCeyerd.com, features the quote “Some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait.” alongside a bleeding rose logo. When the play button is pressed, the a verse is spoken:
“Thou art sick
Invisible flies in the night
Howling storm has found out thy bed of crimson joy
Dark secret thy life destroyed”
Although not a word-for-word recitation of the poem, this verse closely resembles the poem “The Sick Rose” by William Blake. Along with the rose logo, Valentine’s Day reveal date, and general horrific vibes, fans believe this may be teasing a remake or remaster of the controversial PS2 horror game, Rule of Rose.
Originally developed by Punchline and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (Japan), Atlus (North America), and 505 Games (Europe), Rule of Rose was controversial due to its alleged erotic and violent content. The release was cancelled in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Since its release, it has garnered a cult following and is actually quite pricey, with loose copies of NA versions costing up to over $400.
Although players seem convinced it’ll be Rule of Rose, this is all just speculation. We will know more when that countdown timer reaches zero on February 14.
Beyond this mysterious game, Bloober Team looks to be very busy. In 2024, the developer released its critically acclaimed remake of Silent Hill 2. In 2025, it released Cronos: The New Dawn, which wasn’t as well-received but still received solid scores. For the future, it was announced that the studio is working on a remake of Silent Hill 1 along with two other projects dubbed Project F and Project M.
