A pair of popular 2021 and 2022 PS5 and PS4 games are shutting down in 2026, publisher Electronic Arts has announced. Frankly, we’re surprised that NHL 22 and NHL 23 are still online, but they won’t be for long.
EA shutting down NHL 22 and 23 on PS5 and PS4 in August 2026
Both NHL 22 and 23 will shut down on all platforms on August 31, 2026. Both games have already been delisted from the PS Store, so this news only impacts those who already own them or plan to buy physical copies.
A quick note on NHL 23’s PS Store delisting: the game appears as “free” in some regions. However, it’s not available to purchase, and clicking on the listing doesn’t open the download option. Sony is simply taking its sweet time cleaning up the PS Store.
This is your last chance to unlock NHL 22 and 23 Platinum trophies because after August, some of the trophies will become unobtainable for good. There are reports that a few trophies are already busted, so those starting them from scratch might not be able to pop the Platinum at all.
Don’t expect EA to fix anything at this point, but we’ll update our readers if there are any developments on this front.
