PS5 Pro Support for Resident Evil Village Removed, Capcom Silent

Resident Evil Village‘s most recent update has removed PS5 Pro support for the game, and Capcom has yet to address the issue. The faulty patch was released on February 2 for additional language options, but somehow ended up nuking PS5 Pro’s high frame rate mode.

Resident Evil Village PS5 Pro support was rolled back in update 1.230

Both Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 were updated on February 2 to “add LATAM Spanish voice and Polish display text options,” per Capcom. However, after applying the update, PS5 Pro owners noticed that Resident Evil Village no longer supported 120Hz.

Forced to downgrade to lower frame rates, PS5 Pro users contacted Capcom through various channels. However, a week later, at the time of this writing, the company has not issued a statement or a fix.

Some folks managed to get a standard response from Capcom’s Support staff via email, which stated that their reports have been forwarded to the concerned team for “further investigation.” However, players were told that they would not receive any follow-ups or updates from Support.

In other words, Resident Evil Village developers have been made aware of the issue, but we don’t know when PS5 Pro support will be restored, so you’ll have to wait indefinitely.
