PS5’s Most-Hyped Exclusive Action Game Skipping PlayStation State of Play

One of Sony’s biggest and most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusives will likely not be appearing at its upcoming State of Play event this week.

What hyped PS5 exclusive will be skipping PlayStation’s State of Play?

In a recent post on social media, Insomniac Games seemed to suggest they would be not be involved with the State of Play set to take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026. A fan asked when they might expect more news and information on Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game, to which Insomniac said to expect more info in the spring.

Unfortunately for fans, we’re a bit too early for spring, so unless Insomniac is being purposely coy here, this means there won’t be much, if any, new information about Marvel’s Wolverine at the show. The State of Play will be broadcast live on Thursday, February 12, at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. The event will be over an hour long.

As for what we do know, Sony has promised “eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios.” We expect to see Saros and more of Horizon Hunters Gathering, and possibly Marvel’s upcoming fighting game, Tokon: Fighting Souls, which Sony and Arc System Works have largely kept under wraps.

Much of the 60+ minutes is also likely to be dedicated to third-party and indies, though, as has historically been the case.
