One of 2025’s biggest RPGs is officially available on the PlayStation 5 now, after originally releasing on the Xbox and PC last year.
What Xbox RPG is available on PS5 now?
Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s action role-playing game, is out now on PS5. The game is available on the PS Store for $49.99, with a “Premium” Edition also available for $59.99 including a digital artbook and soundtrack, two player armors, and eight companion skins.
Originally released for the Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2025, Avowed is an action role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment, the developers behind Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds series. The game takes place in the Living Lands, a region within the world of Eora. Players take control of an envoy from the Aedyr Empire. Throughout the game, players can use things like magic, melee weapons, and more to fight enemies, with the game known for its ability to switch up combat setups during a fight.
The original game received favorable reviews from critics, and it was nominated for Best Role Playing Game at The Game Awards 2025. PlayStation Lifestyle’s Tyler Treese reviewed the PS5 version of the game, calling it more than worth the wait and a “total blast.”
“The PlayStation 5 version of Avowed is a total blast, allowing Obsidian’s action RPG to truly shine with its Anniversary Update included,” wrote Treese. “Those who have waited are in for a treat as the world is thrilling to explore and well worth the adventure. Obsidian’s latest fantasy RPG is some of the studio’s best work to date, and it’s great that more people can now enjoy it.”
