A 2025 PS5 shooter is officially going on sale permanently, and will allow players to let their friends join in on playing all for free.

FBC: Firebreak, the FPS that was set in the Control universe from Remedy Entertainment, received its final update this week, and with it comes a big sale.
According to an announcement from Remedy, FBC: Firebreak will now permanently be available for 50% off. This drops the price of the base game to $19.99 and the Deluxe Edition to $29.99.
Alongside that, Remedy is also introducing a “Friend’s Pass” system. To ensure that players are still available to play, those who own the game will be able to invite their friends to play, completely for free. All they have to do is download the Friends Pass version of the game, and they can matchmake with a friend who owns the game. The Friend’s Pass version of the game is a version of the full game, but with some limitations.
The new update for FBC: Firebreak, titled the Open House update, adds new arenas inspired by locations from Control for the game’s Endless Shift mode. A new batch of gameplay improvements was also added, including perk and weapon balance changes, and some final quality-of-life improvements. In Remedy’s announcement on the update, they also confirmed that FBC: Firebreak won’t be shutting down, and will be staying online and “continue to be playable for years to come.”
FBC: Firebreak was originally released in June 2025 but launched to mixed reviews. The game failed to meet sales expectations, leading to it receiving no future updates.
