Zombie Army VR PS5 multiplayer shutting down

2025 PS5 Shooter Shutting Down Multiplayer Already

A 2025 PS5 shooter is shutting down online services less than a year after launch, its developer has announced. Rebellion‘s Zombie Army VR released for PS5/PSVR2 among other platforms in June last year, and will be losing its fun co-op mode within the next week.

PS5 / PSVR2 game Zombie Army VR shutting down multiplayer because of Unity

Zombie Army VR’s multiplayer closure seems to be out of Rebellion’s control. The developer blamed “Unity’s phased exit from the Multiplay Game Server Hosting Service” for the shutdown. Players have until next Tuesday, March 31, to enjoy co-op.

The good news is that trophies and subsequently Platinum will remain unaffected, as they can all be unlocked offline. Zombie Army VR has a full-fledged single-player campaign that players can continue to enjoy.

As for what happens to save data for players who are playing Zombie Army VR in co-op mode, Rebellion has said that it’s “still investigating,” but aims “to protect the integrity of the save data with no loss of progress.”

At the time of this writing, there are no further updates on the status of co-op save data.

Zombie Army VR is currently full price ($29.99) on the PS Store. We expect it to get a price drop after server closure.
