PS5 action game Patlabor The Case Files

PS5 Getting Exclusive Action Game in Series Not Seen Since PSP

A new PS5 console exclusive action game has been announced, taking players by surprise because the series hasn’t seen a new game since 2005. Patlabor The Case Files is the next PS5 and PC game in the Japanese media franchise, but its release window has yet to be revealed.

PS5 fans weren’t expecting a new Patlabor action game

Patlabor The Case Files is a 3D action game in development at Chime Corporation. It’ll be published by Good Smile Company.

“Relive numerous iconic scenes from Mobile Police Patlabor in this home console 3D action game,” a press release reads (thanks, Gematsu). “Play from different perspectives — ‘Main Missions’ as Special Vehicle Section 2, and ‘Another Side Missions’ as their adversaries.”

The game will feature over 20 Labors, including Ingram, Griffon, and Type Zero. Patlabor The Case Files will also offer a Simulation Mode where players can practice shooting and engage in “Labor-versus-Labor” combat.

Although a release window for Patlabor The Case Files hasn’t been announced, we’re guessing that it’ll coincide with the launch of the upcoming anime Patlabor EZY.

The franchise spawned numerous video games. Its latest release was PSP‘s Patlabor: Come Back Mini-Pato. However, it did make an appearance in 2017’s Japan-exclusive PS4 game Kyoei Toshi (City Shrouded in Shadow).
