Following leaks and a slight delay, Sony has finally announced the PS Plus Essential April 2026 monthly free games. As expected, two of the games are 2023 and 2024 PS5 RPGs, and this month, only one game is available to PS4 owners. The incoming games will replace a lineup that received a mixed response despite offering four freebies.

The full PS Plus Essential April lineup includes Lords of the Fallen (PS5), Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream (PS5), and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (PS5, PS4).
All games will go live on Tuesday, April 7. The games will be available to claim until midnight on May 4.
As a reminder for those new to PS Plus, unlike Extra and Premium games, Essential games are yours to keep forever. With an active subscription, you can access the games anytime from your console’s library. Additionally, these freebies are available to members of all three tiers.
Players have until Monday night, April 6, to claim March’s four free games: Monster Hunter Rise (PS5, PS4), Slime Rancher 2 (PS5), The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road (PS5, PS4), and PGA Tour 2K25 (PS5).
