PS5 trophy hunters should take note of a little warning before starting a highly anticipated new PS Plus Essential April 2026 free game that dropped today. Due to a rather annoying Sony policy, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered only offers Platinum trophies on the PS4, so you’ll need to make a choice.
PS Plus free game Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered offers 3 Platinum trophies, but not on PS5
As long-time PS5 users are well aware by now, Sony doesn’t allow multiple games bundled under a single SKU to include a separate Platinum trophy for each, as a result of which major games like Call of Duty didn’t come with the coveted prize for years.
The same can be said for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, which is split into three separate games on the PS4, each with its own Platinum trophy (three total). There isn’t a single Platinum on offer in the PS5 version, as all three games are under a single SKU.
So, if you’re a trophy hunter, you’ll need to play the PS4 version. When downloading Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered from the PS Store, use the drop-down menu next to the download button to opt for the last-gen version.
From what we’ve seen, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered runs fine on the PS4, so you won’t be missing out on anything major. However, if you don’t care about trophies, the PS5 version should be your default choice.
