PS Portal Update 7.0.2 Out Now But Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

Sony quietly rolled out PS Portal system software update 7.0.2 this morning, following a day of connectivity issues that many players faced. While we can’t yet confirm whether those issues have been fully resolved, the patch notes reveal a minor update that doesn’t do much.

PS Portal update 7.0.2 patch notes (April 8, 2026)

Patch notes for today’s PS Portal firmware update are as follows:

  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.

Some players have reported that the update is taking a while for them, so if your download percentage gets stuck, wait it out and it’ll complete eventually.

The last PS Portal system update was released in March with significant improvements and features, including the long-awaited 1080p High Quality resolution. In case you missed it, patch notes for the previous update are as follows:

  • You can now:
    • Select a specific game to play from a game bundle.
    • View game invite notifications for the game you’re playing.
    • View detailed notifications for trophies you earn.
  • You can now create an account and sign in to your PS Portal with one easy process by scanning a QR code with your mobile device.
  • 1080p High Quality is now available as the maximum resolution. When using Cloud Streaming or Remote Play, open the quick menu, go to Max Resolution, and select 1080p High Quality.
  • You can check troubleshooting tips from the quick menu.
