Beautiful PS5 Exclusive Game Out Today on PS Store

Today is finally the day. One of PlayStation’s most anticipated first-party exclusives is finally making its way to PS5. Only available on Sony’s console, Saros is available right now on the PlayStation Store.

What is Saros?

Developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Saros is a third-person action game. Combining mechanics from third-person shooters, bullet hell shooters, and roguelites, the Finnish studio’s latest is one of its most unique games yet. Starring Rahul Kohli as protagonist Arjun Devraj, the Soltari Enforcer is tasked with exploring the mysterious planet Carcosa.

Here is a trailer and description of Saros, giving players a glimpse of what to expect from Housemarque’s bullet ballet shooter:

“Beneath the shadow of an ominous eclipse, Arjun Devraj (Rahul Kohli) is a Soltari enforcer who will stop at nothing to pursue answers on the shape-shifting Carcosa, a world of dark secrets and hostile inhabitants.

“Master electrifying bullet ballet combat – intense projectile-focused gameplay with a unique, neon-infused esthetic – to overcome ferocious enemies and spectacular boss fights.”

Saros is available now for PS5 on the PS Store. The Standard Edition, which only includes the base game, is $69.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition is $79.99 and includes some extra goodies. Here is everything included in the Digital Deluxe Edition:

  • Base Game
  • Astra Armor
  • Onryo Armor
  • Midgard Armor
  • 48 hours early access (but that doesn’t really matter at this point now that the game is out)

Reviews for Saros began to appear online just before the game’s release, and they are very positive. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 88 based on 104 critic reviews. This is what our sister site, ComingSoon, said about PS5’s newest exclusive.

“Saros doesn’t fully build on Returnal, as its structure is sometimes frustrating, but it plays like a dream from a combat perspective,” says the review. “Housemarque has once again made one of the best-playing PS5 games and a shooter that handles wonderfully as you find upgrades and create a build to take on difficult bosses. “
