Rumor has it that Sony has tasked one of the PlayStation Studios with bringing a pair of popular PS3 action adventure games to PS5. Although inFamous games were developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the studio reportedly isn’t involved in the project.
PS3 exclusive Infamous games might eventually land on PS5, speculation suggests
The rumor comes from Video Games Chronicles’ Jordan Middler (via ResetEra), who revealed in a recent podcast that he believes an inFamous project is in development at PlayStation, but not at Sucker Punch.
When pushed to elaborate by Kinda Funny Games’ Greg Miller, Middler revealed that he was specifically told by a source at one point that an inFamous revival was in the works, and it was implied that Sony is remaking the first two games.
Middler did warn that things could have changed. After all, Sony did gut some studios (including the beloved Bluepoint Games) and canceled dozens of projects over the last year or so. But that hasn’t stopped fans from getting their hopes up.
The only inFamous game that PS5 players can currently purchase is PS4’s Second Son, so if this rumor is true, inFamous 1 and 2 PS5 remakes do make sense.
Although Middler has a pretty good reputation, take this rumor with a massive grain of salt because it has yet to be corroborated, and Middler himself has emphasized that.
