The annual Days of Play 2026 PS5 deals have started rolling out in some regions, and as feared, they apparently come with a major catch. Unlike previous years, it looks like the 2026 event will not offer any deals on the PS5 console itself or PS Plus, which is a huge bummer.
PS5 Days of Play 2026 deals seemingly skipping the console itself and PS Plus
Yesterday, we spotted a tweet from the official PlayStation Arabia X account, announcing that Days of Play is live in the region as of May 25. The tweet advertises discounts on PS5 accessories, but curiously missing are the PS5 itself, PS Plus, and even the PS Portal, which Sony considers an accessory.
This morning, Days of Play went live in India, and players were quick to point out that no deals were being offered on the PS5 console or 12-month PS Plus subscriptions.
This is disappointing, but not surprising. For starters, Sony recently hiked up PS5 and PS Plus prices once again, so we weren’t expecting immediate discounts. Secondly, reliable insider billbil-kun had already hinted that there wouldn’t be any PS5 console discounts this time.
Still, we’re holding out some faint hope that Days of Play in the West will include discounts on PS5 consoles, PS Portal, and PS Plus.
