PlayStation 5 players can try out one of the best games of 2026 for free. The recently released Resident Evil Requiem, a GOTY contender, has a new demo available to check out.
Resident Evil Requiem free PS5 trial out now on PS Store, no PS Plus required
A Resident Evil Requiem trial is available now on the PS Store. Better yet, players won’t need PlayStation Plus in order to try it out, as the game is free for anyone to try.
The demo features a bit of the opening of the game, with Grace Ashcroft exploring the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. The demo also features a brief play session as Leon, giving players the chance to check out both perspectives.
Originally released earlier this year, Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth main game in the Resident Evil series, and follows the stories of FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. Requiem sold 5 million copies of the game in five days, and had sold over 7 million units within its first two months, becoming the fastest-selling Resident Evil game in the franchise.
The game launched to massive praise, and has positioned itself as a prime Game of the Year contender early in the year.
“Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core,” reads the game’s official description.
