It finally happened: thousands of PS5 and PS4 games are in the process of being removed from the PS Store as Sony continues its crackdown on low-effort junk. Yesterday, we reported that Sony had banned an infamous scam game dev along with all of its games. But to our surprise, the company didn’t stop there.
Sony drops the ban hammer on numerous studios flooding PS Store with junk games
Webnetic, a company infamous for flooding the PS Store with low-quality games, announced on X that Sony had terminated its contract and its games will soon leave the storefront for good.
Webnetic alone has thousands of PS Store listings across all regions.
But that’s not all! Sony’s recent bloodbath nuked several other devs known for scam games and junk (thanks, PSNProfiles), namely, Violarte, SimulaMaker (can you guess what type of games they make), and West Connection.
This is a much-needed culling that frankly should have happened years ago, but better late than never. In recent years, Sony has made several promises to improve the PS Store, but this is the first time we’ve seen a crackdown of this scale.
We certainly won’t miss seeing Dark Farts: Parody Smell Edition while looking for gems in a PS Store sale…
