Sony Interactive Entertainment has rolled out PS5 system software update 26.05-13.60.00, the second firmware update for July 2026. As usual, there’s nothing to be excited about, but prepare to download a little over 1 GB of data on your PS5 and PS5 Pro.
PS5 system update 26.05-13.60.00 patch notes (July 23, 2026)

Nothing else to see here, unfortunately. The PS5 hasn’t received a significant system software update since the big PSSR 2.0 update for the PS5 Pro, which brought new Welcome Hub features for the base console.
To jog your memory, we received Showcase Mode to display a full view of the selected Welcome Hub background when the PS5 is idle. We also got a Slideshow Mode that allows us to set an album as our background, and set its images to rotate in the Welcome Hub.
Today’s firmware update doesn’t make any noteworthy stealth changes (at least none that players have spotted thus far), but we’ll update our readers when we have more information.
