One of the more underrated action RPGs of this generation, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, is discounted heavily on the PlayStation Store. Developed by Don’t Nod, the game was released in 2024 to positive reviews.
At the time of writing, Don’t Nod has discounted Banishers from its standard $59.99 price tag to just $17.99, discounting it by 70%. The updated price will be live on the store until September 10, 2026, so fans have long enough to buy it at the price. Those who have a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription can also play it from the Game Catalog.
What can players expect from Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden?
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a third-person action-adventure game where players take control of a duo of ghost hunters. Both characters, Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, are playable in the narrative, with unique abilities and playstyles. Set in the cursed land of New Eden in 1695, the game has players explore its mysteries and fight various wraiths haunting its citizens.
Banishers is a narrative-heavy game, but there are plenty of times when players will have to make tough choices. Those familiar with Don’t Nod’s previous games, Life is Strange and Vampyr, will know the developer’s pedigree regarding branching narratives. Both Red and Antea have the choice to either banish the souls of the cursed or blame the survivors.
Like most third-person action RPGs, Banishers also includes a skill tree through which players can customize their playstyle. Following its release, Banishers scored a 78 on Metacritic, counting 68 reviews. Its user score is also positive at 7.6/10, with nearly 800 reviews from players.
Following Banishers, Don’t Nod released Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to positive reviews last year. The developer also released Aphelion, a futuristic third-person action game, earlier this year.
