Long-Forgotten PlayStation 3 Action Game’s PS5 Sequel Gets Release Date

A 2013 action game that was ported to the PS3 in 2014 is getting its PS5 sequel surprisingly soon. H2 Interactive’s scrolling shooter Caladrius will return on December 10, 2026, as Caladrius 2: Dark Element. The first game originally launched as a timed Xbox console exclusive. Its PS3 version was titled Caladrius Blaze.

Although Caladrius 2 is getting a global release on December 10, it looks like its physical editions will only be released in Japan.

As noted by Gematsu, the standard edition will cost 6,578 yen and the limited edition will cost 12,980 yen. The game will also be released on the Nintendo Switch and PC. An Xbox release has not been announced.

“Thirteen years after the original title made its debut, the series is reborn with a brand-new installment that further evolves the shocking experience fans remember,” H2 Interactive said in a press release. “Set in a dark gothic world where beauty and darkness intertwine, Caladrius 2: Dark Element delivers exhilarating 2D bullet-hell shooting action. Fight your way across battlefields engulfed in darkness alongside a cast of unique characters brought to life by talented new illustrators.”

We’ll update our readers if Caladrius 2 gets a physical release in the West.
