Death Stranding 2 PS5 update

Death Stranding 2 PS5 Update Resolves Its Most Annoying Issue

It took over a month, but a new Death Stranding: On the Beach PS5 update has finally fixed an issue that has plagued the game since launch. PlayStation XDEV has announced that it has resolved the camera/environment stuttering that occurs when in motion.

Death Stranding 2 PS5 update 1.08 patch notes (August 7, 2025)

Death Stranding 2 update 1.08 is now live around the globe, and weighs 925.1 MB on both the PS5 and PS5 Pro. Patch notes are as follows, per XDEV:

  • Addressed an issue where the camera / environment would appear to stutter when in motion
  • Gameplay improvements
  • Minor fixes

XDEV didn’t provide any further details but players who tested Death Stranding 2 after applying the patch confirm that the stuttering issue has been resolved. However, there are still complaints of the game causing consoles to overheat and their fans to go into overdrive.

Additionally, one player pointed out on X that the same stuttering bug still appears in some parts of the game.

A small number of players are also reporting an issue with Death Stranding 2’s auto-save function, whereby it malfunctions, and results in lost progress. We advise players to ensure that their progress is saved properly until a fix is rolled out, and to back up saves to PS Plus cloud.

We’ll update our readers when a fix is issued.
