Fan Favorite 2021 Square Enix PS5 RPG Gets New Features

Fan-favorite 2021 Square Enix RPG, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade,is getting a new PS5 update next week to celebrate its launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series consoles. Specifically, it will introduce Streamlined Progression, which are toggled options that make the game less difficult.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade gets new features 5 years after release

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade’s Streamlined Progression options are similar to the built-in cheat in the recent Final Fantasy ports where pressing in the right stick gives instant limit breaks, infinite HP, and infinite MP, but are more customizable. The X (formerly Twitter) post announcing the upcoming patch reveals the ability to keep HP and MP topped up and to always hit for 9,999 damage are two of the options. A recent Reddit post from user itisChildish shows the full list.

Here are all the Streamline Progression options coming to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade:

  • Constant Max HP
  • Constant Max MP
  • Limit Gauge Always Full
  • ATB Gauge Always Full
  • Constant Max Damage
  • 2x EXP & 3x AP Gain
  • Easy Weapon Ability Acquisition
  • Constant Max Gil
  • Constant Max Recovery Items
  • Max Materia Levels

The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade patch will be downloadable on Thursday, January 22, the same day as the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series release.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade includes both the base game and Episode INTERmission, a DLC episode that stars Yuffie Kisaragi. In our review, we gave it a 10 out of 10.

“As a complete package, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade just feels like the definitive version of an already perfect game. And the addition of Episode INTERmission is a great excuse to bring old players back for new content (or just a solid extra couple of chapters for new players),” reads our review.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is available for PS5 on the PlayStation Store for $39.99. There is also a Digital Deluxe Edition for $59.99 that includes a Digital Artbook and Digital Mini-Soundtrack.
