PS5 and PS4 players can try a promising upcoming action game for free via the PS Store. Hyperwired is a frenetic roguelike shooter that’s a throwback to arcade games. Its demo is out now in all regions.
PS5 and PS4 players can sample Hyperwired for free ahead of summer 2026 launch, no PS Plus required
Hyperwired is completely single-player, so you don’t need a PS Plus subscription to check out the demo. But if you’re a Premium member, you can take advantage of cloud streaming and skip downloading.
“Space has plunged into darkness. You are the last spark,” an official overview reads. “Pilot through procedurally generated sectors, dodge bullet-hell chaos, and face colossal bosses. But remember: your energy is finite. To survive, you’ll have to plug in.”
Hyperwired will launch globally for PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in summer 2026. A specific release date was not announced.
Hyperwired has been developed with GameMaker.
“Hyperwired redefines the classic top-down shooter with its unique ‘tethered’ core mechanic,” write publishers Selecta Play and Entalto Publishing. “Players pilot specialized ships that must physically plug into power sockets to recharge weapons and systems.”
