Sony and Namco to Help Man Mugged in London Riots

By now most of you have probably seen footage of the riots in London and more specifically, the horrible actions of a few who robbed an injured man they had just helped to hit feet. The injured man, 20 year old Ashraf Haziq, might be getting back what was stolen and more.

Speaking on a site set up to help Haziq, SCEE marketing director Alan Duncan said that Sony would “like to give Ashraf a new PSP and games,” going on to ask how he could be put in touch with Haziq or his hospital.

An SCE UK rep has responded to Duncan, stating:

If we can find out how to get it to him we’ll replace the PSP.

Namco Bandai has also stepped up their classiness, revealing that they plan to send a package of games to the injured.

Ashraf Haziq, a Malaysian student, suffered a broken jaw in the riots and while being helped to his feet, was promptly robbed by the same people offering him help. Those who haven’t seen the video, but would like to, can check it out here.

Hopefully Ashraf has a great recovery and this is an awesome response from Sony and Namco.
