Sony Releases Entirely Featureless, Optional Vita Update, v.1.69

Bored of your Vita, and want an excuse to turn it on? Good news, you’ll be able to have some fun downloading a pointless update.

Announced by Eric Lempel on the PS Blog, the update doesn’t do anything other than un-specifically improve software stability. The improvements obviously aren’t that vital as the 97mb update is optional, so you don’t need to download it.

Unfortunately, this probably means that the next proper FW update is a little while off, as Sony would have waited until it was out to bundle in these stability improvements if it was close. Some time this summer, however, we will finally get PS1 support, so there’s that to look forward to.
