Rod Fergusson Leaves Epic Games to Join Irrational

Rod Fergusson, the former director of production at Epic Games has left the studio to go work with Ken Levine and his team at Irrational on BioShock Infinite. He confirmed the news on Twitter earlier today, saying, “Yes it’s true, I’m leaving my family at Epic to join my new family at Irrational in Boston starting tomorrow. And yes I’ve played Infinite and it’s amazing! Can’t wait for you guys to get your hands on it.”

Just yesterday, news that the BioShock Infinite team lost two key staff members hit the web, and interestingly enough, one of them was Tim Gerritson who served as the team’s director of product development. Considering the fact that Fergusson held a similar role at Epic, it’s safe to say that he will be filling Gerritson’s position.

With all of these changes and the game’s delay to early next year, there’s reason to believe that something big is going on at Irrational Games. Whether or not it’s for the best remains to be seen, but considering how awesome it looked at E3 last year, we certainly hope so.
