Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to Remain a PS3-Exclusive in Japan

Konami Japan has just announced that they will not be releasing an Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in Japan.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a shock, considering how unpopular Microsoft’s console is in the region. It looks like the publisher must have done the math and realized it simply wasn’t worth catering to such a small percentage of the Japanese market that would prefer to play it on the Xbox.

The translation of the official statement reads as follows:

Due to various reasons, the launch of the Japanese version be made only PlayStation 3. We have been looking forward to the launch in the Xbox 360, to everyone of the persons concerned, andsincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

There has been no word on cancellations in other regions, so it’s safe to say that the Xbox 360 version is still a go in North America and Europe.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set to launch on February 19th of next year.
