LucasArts Talks Buyout: “For the Time Being all Projects are Business as Usual”

Unless you were living under a rock yesterday, you’re likely aware of the fact that LucasFilm was acquired by Disney. As a result, gamers eager to get their hands on Star Wars 1313 have become a bit worried as to how this purchase may affect the outcome of the game.

Things got particularly worrisome when Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, announced that LucasFilm wouldn’t be focusing on console games going forward, as mobile and tablet experiences would be the company’s main focus.

LucasArts released a statement to IGN in an effort to assuage gamers’ fears, claiming that the big change won’t have any direct impact on the development of current projects. “For the time being all projects are business as usual. We are excited about all the possibilities that Disney brings.”

Star Wars 1313 looked downright jaw-dropping when we saw it at E3, so we really hope that its development isn’t compromised in any way before its launch.
