Luftrausers Shoots its way to the PS3 and PS Vita This Spring, Ridiculous Fishing on PS Mobile: “Probably Not”

Hot off the huge success for Ridiculous Fishing on iOS, Vlambeer has announced that they will be teaming up with Devolver Digital (who are also handling the PlayStation versions of Hotline Miami) to bring Luftrausers to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita this spring.

Playable at both GDC and PAX East, Luftrausers is a “massive evolution” over the 2011 browser game of the same name, which was done by Vlambeer, and it sees you getting into frantic dogfights over the sea. When it comes out, the game will have 125 different combinations of plane guns, bodies, and engines for you to take through the over 100 missions.

To see what you’re in for, here’s the official trailer:

Co-founder of Vlambeer, Rami Ismail, talked about the decision to bring the game to PlayStation:

We’ve had a great time working with Sony on previous projects and we’re glad to finally announce that we’re working with them again. It was kind of a no-brainer that Luftrausers would be a perfect fit for the systems and we’re delighted to say that our screenshake translates really well to both a TV and the Vita.

Shahid Ahmad, Senior Business Development Manager at SCEE also weighed in:

The PlayStation team is full of Vlambeer fans so we’re absolutely delighted to see Luftrausers launch on PlayStation platforms. Vlambeer’s unmistakable style and wonderful attention to detail will most certainly shine on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.

There was no word of Cross Buy or Cross Saves for Luftrausers, but we can tell you that it is going to cost $9.99/€7.99 at launch.

Also, we reached out to Vlambeer about the possibility of seeing Ridiculous Fishing on PlayStation Mobile, much like they did with Super Crate Box, and their response was “probably not.”
