Ask PSLS: Which April 2013 New Release Video Game Are You Most Excited For?

March 29, 2013 Written by Jason Dunning

You’d be forgiven for not being as excited for April as you were for March, especially with BioShock Infinite getting a rare perfect score from us. But there are definitely some games worth playing; which the PSLS staff call attention to in this Ask PSLS: “Which April 2013 New Release Video Game Are You Most Excited For?”

Anthony Severino – Is a God Among Us (@Sev_Anthony)

My pick for April is Injustice: Gods Among Us, and ONLY because it’s being developed by NetherRealm Studios, and I will support them in anything they do. I gotta admit, I’m not in love with the DC characters (I’ve always been more of a Marvel guy), but the gameplay is so tight and polished, and plays similar to a more over the top and aggressive Mortal Kombat. That means, I’m probably going to fuck shit up, and I like feeling invincible. Look for me online… or don’t, you’ll probably regret it.

Cameron Teague – Sacrificial Lamb (@Cameron_PSLS)

I am going with Soul Sacrifice on the Vita, which looks like it is going to be awesome. The rest of the month is pretty meh for me.

Chandler Wood – Always Kombative (@FinchStrife)

April is looking like a fairly bland month compared to what we’ve seen thus far and what’s coming up beyond it. If I’m looking at PS3 titles, I have to say I am excited for Injustice: Gods Among Us. Hopefully they won’t be as brutal with the trophies for this game as they were with Mortal Kombat (24 hours of playtime with EACH character?). Sadly, my interest in fighting games wanes very quickly, so luckily I’ve got the Vita title Soul Sacrifice to look forward to as well. Looks like it’s mostly going to be a month of knocking out some backlog games for me though.

Jason Dunning – Stuck in the Past (@Jasonad21)

There’s nothing that truly excites me in April and will have me buying it on launch day, mostly because my backlog includes BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider, but I’m very much looking forward to Guacamelee! and Injustice: Gods Among Us. As 2013 progresses and I get more time, I’ll probably dip into Dead Island: Riptide, Star Trek, and Soul Sacrifice.

Jesse Meikle – Junebug (@Jesse_WM)

I’m not looking forward to or purchasing anything until The Last Of Us in June, I am eager to seize this opportunity to catch up on my backlog, however. Let’s see if I can use the next couple months to complete: Catherine, Spec Ops: The Line, Devil May Cry’s DLC, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, God of War: Ascension, BioShock: Infinite, and a host of (mostly PS+) Vita titles.

Sebastian Moss – Is a Man of Few Words (@SebMoss)

April looks pretty bleh.

Vivas Kaul – Licensed (@VivasKaul)

I’m really looking forward to Injustice: Gods Among Us. I’m curious to see how NetherRealm utilizes the awesome storytelling technology from MK9 (aka Mortal Kombat) and merge it with some of the other new tech they’re cooking up for it. Yes, some people are going to dismiss it since it’s a DC licensed game, but I can’t wait for it to come out so that I can have a reason to dust off my fight stick. That sounds dirty doesn’t it? Maybe I should have said polishing instead of dusting? Ah whatever!
