It looks like the racing rivalry between Need for Speed and Gran Turismo will continue on the big screen.

General News

  • The Wrap is reporting that Sony has put a Gran Turismo movie into development, with the Fifty Shades of Grey producers behind it. [Source]
  • Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark, which came out today in North America and debuts in Europe tomorrow, will be getting a patch within the next month that allows the sharing of user-created levels. [Source]
  • EA’s Q1 FY2014 financials show that they were the #1 publisher in Western retail markets in calendar year 2013, Battlefield 3 Premium already has over 4 million members, and FIFA 13 digital net revenue is over $70 million, a 92% increase over FIFA 12 in Q1 FY2013. [Press Release]
  • During an earnings call today, Frank Gibeau, President of EA Labels, said that Star Wars: Battlefront is “well into development,” confirming that it “has a third-person component to it.” [EA Call]
  • Thanks to a new listing on the PlayStation Store, we know that Madden NFL 25 will be a Day 1 Digital title on the PSN next month. [Source]
  • For even more EA, they announced that Ultimate Teams for FIFA 14 and Madden NFL 25 would transfer from PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One. For FIFA 14, this means your Ultimate Team full roster, in-game items and in-game currency will be transferable, as well as maintaining your current division in Seasons mode. For Madden NFL 25, you can transfer up to 1,100 Madden Ultimate Team items. [Press Releases]
  • Killer is Dead will be a Day 1 Digital title on the PSN. [PR]
  • Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly was taken down from the PlayStation Store a little ways back due to bugs, but the PS Store Team is hoping to have it back up soon. [Source]
