Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Collector’s Edition Priced & Detailed, PS4 & PS3 Requirements Revealed

Over the weekend, Square Enix gave out a lot of details regarding Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, which launches globally on June 23 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC/Mac.

First up, here’s the pricing of the various editions of Heavensward:

  • Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Collector’s Edition – $129.99 (retail), $59.99 (digital)
  • Final Fantasy XIV Online (Includes A Realm Reborn and Heavensward) – $59.99 (retail and digital)
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Standard Edition – $39.99 (retail and digital)

Pre-ordering will get you in-game items in the form of Cecil Harvey’s (Final Fantasy IV) Baron Circlet and Baron Earrings, as well as a Chocobo Chick Courier.

In terms of game time, the Final Fantasy XIV Online bundle includes 30 days of play time, while Heavensward does not come with a free trial period. To play FFXIV, it costs between $12.99 – $14.99 per month, with PS4 users not required to have a PlayStation Plus membership.

Square Enix then detailed some important information about playing on either the PS4 or PS3 (along with requiring a persistent broadband internet connection):

  • Required Hard Drive Space – 50GB minimum
  • DualShock 4 – Required
  • Mouse and Keyboard – Optional Support
  • Video Output – 720p, 1080p
  • PS Vita Remote Play – Supported
  • Share Function – Supported

PlayStation 3 Details

  • Required Hard Drive Space – 20GB minimum
  • DualShock 3 – Required
  • Keyboard Support – Optional (text input only)
  • Video Output – 480p, 720p
  • *Note: Since Final Fantasy XIV requires at least 20GB of free space to install and play, owners of the 12GB or 20GB model will need to upgrade their hard drive.

Here’s everything included inside the Heavensward Collector’s Edition:

  • Dragonsong War Exclusive Box – The Collector’s Edition features art by famed Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano.
  • Dragon Mount Figure – A high-quality figure modeled after the new flying mount obtainable in the course of your adventures.
  • In-Game Items – Flying Griffin Mount, Dark Knight Cecil-themed Baron Helm, Wind-up Kain (minion), Fantasia (potion to edit your character’s appearance once).
  • Heavensward Art Book – This art book features a host of designs and illustrations created during the development of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.
  • A Realm Reborn Movie Blu-ray Disc – A high-definition compilation of all the trailers released for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Additionally, patch 2.55, Before the Fall Part 2, arrives on March 31, complete with the following changes:

  • The Final Coil of Bahamut will be added to the Duty Finder
  • The World of Darkness weekly gear limit will be removed
  • The amount of MGP you receive in the Gold Saucer will be adjusted
  • Adjustments will also be made to the Triple Triad tournaments
  • Considering making balance adjustments to Triple Triad NPCs since we’ve received lots of feedback that certain NPCs can be a bit too strong
