Back in September, Sony revealed that PlayStation 4 sales in the UK crossed 1 million, which made it the 2nd fastest-selling console of all-time in the region at 42 weeks.
Now, eight months later and 75 weeks after its initial launch, Sony confirmed to MCV that PS4 sales have topped 2 million in the UK. Not only does this make it the best-selling console of 2015, but it also reached the milestone faster than the PlayStation 2.
Based off of GfK Chart-Track retail data, PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara talked about passing 2 million: “Reaching the milestone of two million PlayStation 4 consoles in the UK in less than 18 months is an achievement we are very proud of.”
On a worldwide basis, Sony’s financial report recently revealed that PS4 sales are over 22.3 million. By March 2016, the company expects to have that number around 38 million.
