Astraea Lets You Build a Town & Make Friends on PS4 in Early 2016

Currently available in alpha form through the developer’s website on PC, Astraea from Norwind Interactive is coming to PlayStation 4 in early 2016.

Available to play on PS4 for the time ever at the Central Canada Comic Con this month, complete with split-screen co-op gameplay, Astraea is an “open-ended multiplayer sandbox game that allows you to build a town, run a farm, and make lots of friends.”

Programmer Brandyn Engbrecht explained that Astraea is about giving players freedom to design their own towns, with buildings, structures, and objects able to be constructed wherever you want. When not building, Astraea lets you interact with the other villagers to see their happiness and energy level, decorate your home, go shopping in the capital, plant/harvest crops, raise farm animals, participate in activities, ride on horseback, fish on a boat or docks, and more.

On top of all that, you can create and play mini-games in your town:

A few examples of mini-games are: archery, racing, and fishing tournaments. You can invite your friends to enter your town to compete and play these mini-games. Astraea was designed to be an open ended game, so don’t feel rushed when creating your town and let your imagination soar!

The above video for Astraea is from an early alpha build in September 2014.
