Cross-Platform Play Headed to DC Universe Online on PS4 and PC Later This Month

In commemorating the MMO’s five-year anniversary, developer Daybreak Games has announced that cross-platform play is finally coming to DC Universe Online, allowing PC and PS4 players to duke it out together as their favorite costumed heroes.

Due to arrive on January 25, word of the much-requested feature first appeared earlier today during a Kinda Funny Games Twitch stream. Here, Daybreak’s Executive Creative Director Jens Andersen confirmed that cross-play is indeed on its way, and that an Xbox One version of DC Universe Online will release in the spring.

Taking full advantage of a jam-packed year in film and on TV for the DC Expanded Universe, Game Informer reports that the studio has mapped out plans to integrate characters from The CW’s third live-action superhero series, Legend of Tomorrow. And though it won’t follow the story beat for beat, fans of DC Universe Online can look forward to Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Atom, Captain Cold, and Heatwave featuring later in 2016, with plans also in place to double down on Superman content and the characters associated with The Last Son of Krypton.

Finally, Daybreak is rolling out new recruitment tools, a refined endgame progression system and changes to the game’s styles, meaning players won’t be forced to unlock new parts for individual characters.
