Assault Suit Leynos Arrives in Summer 2016 on PS4 & PC

Publisher Rising Star Games announced today that they’re bringing the HD remake of Assault Suit Leynos from Dracue Software to PlayStation 4 and PC in summer 2016 in North America and Europe.

Available through digital stores on both platforms, there will also be a physical PS4 version that includes a deluxe double-sided poster featuring artwork from the Japanese release as well as original art from the classic 16-bit release.

Drawing from the action of the classic 16-bit Assault Suit series (aka Target Earth), Assault Suit Leynos stays true to the “fierce and fast shooting action, challenging boss battles, and an amazing array of weapon options,” while also delivering “HD visuals for the ultimate alien-blasting experience.”

Here’s what Rising Star says about Assault Suit Leynos:

As Earth reels from the impact of a fourth world war and dwindling resources, an uneasy truce between nations sees mankind reach for the stars. Colonies are settled, resources are mined, and the future starts looking a little brighter. But just as peace finally seems possible, an unknown enemy emerges from the deepest region of space to threaten the very existence of humanity. Only one thing can stop them – It’s time to deploy the Assault Suit Squadron! Gamers will blast through the opposing enemy forces with devastating weapons like machine guns, rocket launchers, and laser beams while discovering the hidden truth behind the invaders.

Managing Director Martin Defries added, “The slick production values and fast-paced action make Assault Suit Leynos an incredibly addictive game. This title is both challenging and rewarding and a great example of the type of game, borne out of Japan, that we love working with here at Rising Star Games. Fans of old-school shooters will absolutely feel that familiar thrill and quickening of the pulse when they start blasting wave upon wave of enemies.”
