Update: Because so many people are trying to access the game at once, the servers for Friday the 13th: The Game have been experiencing issues over the last several hours. You can follow along to server status updates on the official Twitter account.

Original Story: Priced at $39.99 USD/$53.49 CAD/£30.99, Friday the 13th: The Game is now available on PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Store, carrying a 3.2GB download size. For this week only, buying the game also gets you a dynamic theme.

A 1v7 asymmetric multiplayer title, here’s the description for Friday the 13th: The Game:

Friday the 13th: The Game will strive to give every single player the tools to survive, escape or even try to take down the man who cannot be killed. Each and every gameplay session will give you an entirely new chance to prove if you have what it takes not only to survive, but to best the most prolific killer in cinema history, a slasher with more kills than any of his rivals!

Meanwhile, Jason will be given an array of abilities to track, hunt and kill his prey. Stalk from the shadows, scare your targets and kill them when the time is right in as brutal a fashion as you can imagine. Take control of the legendary killer that is Jason Voorhees and terrify those unfortunate enough to cross your path!

Single-player is expected to be added in an update coming this summer. A physical version should also arrive in the future.

If you want to unlock the Platinum Trophy in Friday the 13th: The Game, you’ll need to play 1,000 multiplayer matches as a counselor, play 1,000 multiplayer matches as Jason, kill 1,313 counselors, and more.
