Gundam Versus Phantom Gundam DLC

Gundam Versus to Add Phantom Gundam as the Next DLC

Gundam Versus Phantom Gundam DLC

While Gundam fans worldwide are still anticipating the international release of the PlayStation 4 game Gundam Versus on September 29th, it is already available to purchase and play in Japan from July 6th, and it also has been receiving a steady supply of additional playable mobile suits as DLCs. It seems like the game will have even more DLC mobile suits planned in the future.

Gundam Versus Phantom Gundam DLCRyokutya has reported from the monthly Gundam Ace magazine that the next mobile suit in line for addition will be Phantom Gundam. Perhaps even some people in the Gundam fanbase are still not too familiar with this mobile suit yet; the EMS-TC02 Phantom is a mobile suit which is piloted by Font Baud, the protagonist of Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost. This is the sequel manga to Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Steel 7, and part of the popular Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam manga series, which have also been represented in the base game with Crossbone Gundams X-1 Kai, X-2 Kai, X-3, and X-1 Full Cloth.

This will mark the first time that Crossbone Gundam: Ghost has been featured in a Gundam video game. Font Baud is also appearing as the pilot, and he will be voiced by Kaito Ishikawa. Phantom Gundam will be able to activate I-Field and Phantom Light, and it can also transform to Cruise Mode for high-speed travel. Its in-game cost, and more importantly the release date, are still unknown yet.

Currently, Gundam Versus has three DLC mobile suits available for purchase in Japan: Gundam Barbatos Lupus, Gundam Virtue, and G-Self Perfect Pack. Bandai Namco will add Bound Doc (pictured above) and Ground Heavy Equipment Type Pale Rider tomorrow on August 24th, while Gundam Gusion Rebake and Perfect Strike Gundam are planned to be released next week on August 31st. So we are assuming that Phantom Gundam will be added in the following weeks after that.
