U.S. SingStore Update for July 23, 2009

NOTE: The update is LIVE right now, check it out on SingStar!

On Tuesday, the PlayStation.Blog had a post from Nina Scherer (SCEE SingStar Content Manager) giving us a preview of this week’s SingStore update.  Nina promised to bring us the full update list in the future, but this week we were again left wondering which songs would make the cut from the European releases.

PlayStation LifeStyle is pleased to bring you the full update list featuring 12 new videos, 4 songs previously only available in song packs, and 2 new SingStar Essentials song packs:

  • Songs from this week’s European update:
    • The 4 Of Us – “Mary”
    • Adam And The Ants – “Goody Two Shoes”
    • Coldplay – “Life In Technicolor II”
    • The Coral – “In The Morning”
    • Gloria Estefan – “Dr. Beat”
    • The Hold Steady – “Stay Positive”
    • Kasabian – “Fire”
    • Krezip – “Promise”
    • Lou Bega – “Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of…)”
    • P!nk – “Family Portrait”
    • Roy Orbison – “I Drove All Night”
    • Sade – “Smooth Operator”
  • Previously only available in song packs:
    • The Bangles – “Eternal Flame”
    • Frankie Goes To Hollywood – “The Power Of Love”
    • The Fray – “You Found Me”
    • Sara Bareilles – “Love Song”
  • SingStar Essentials: For Boys” song pack:
    • MC Hammer – “U Can’t Touch This”
    • R.E.M – “Losing My Religion”
    • Radiohead – “High And Dry”
    • Scouting For Girls – “She’s So Lovely”
    • Supergrass – “Pumping On My Stereo”
  • “SingStar Essentials: For Girls” song pack:
    • All Saints – “Never Ever”
    • Mel and Kim – “Respectable”
    • Meredith Brooks – “B*tch”
    • Sister Sledge – “We Are Family”
    • Whitney Houston – “Greatest Love Of All”

Personally, I can’t wait to download “The 4 of Us – Mary” with its infectious, simple melodies and killer timpani drums.  I’ll probably also pick up “The Fray – You Found Me” now that I can get it without the song pack.  You can expect to see my performance video uploads after a few beers tonight (PSN ID: StalkingSilence).  Anyone else excited about this update?

A special thanks to Tntnnbltn on the PlayStation.com forums for the tip and the YouTube links!
