Unlocking Aerith in Dissidia 012 [duodecim]

It has been announced that Aerith will be joining the cast of Dissidia 012[duodecim] as an unlockable character. She’s unlockable now in fact, if you know where to go and what to do.

Square Enix made the announcement about Aerith, but they also want you to buy a copy of their premium demo in order to see her in the Dissidia 012 [duodecim]. If you pick up the demo, now titled Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Prologus Final Fantasy, the saved data from it will allow you to see Aerith in the game, but you won’t get to play as her. This is because she’ll be taking on the role of an assist character, which is a new feature in the game. It’s a bit disappointing we won’t get to play as her, but considering Aerith’s role in Final Fantasy VII, it does make sense for her to assist players.

The demo costs 300 yen, which is approximately $3 USD, and is currently only available in the Japanese PlayStation Store. No word has been mentioned yet regarding a North American or European release. However, if you’re able to get your hands on it, Aerith isn’t the only thing you get. The demo previews the game by giving access to the full battle system within two modes, arcade and story. The story portion is unique to the demo as well, and won’t appear in the full game. Dissidia 012 [duodecim] is currently scheduled to release for PSP on March 22 in North America. Will you be picking up a copy?
