Capcom Working on Two New IPs for 2011

Capcom, best known for well-established franchises like Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Mega Man, is typically content with releasing sequels to their existing properties. But it sounds like the developer is ready to really branch out this year, with some new IPs being planned.

According to Kotaku, the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu features Jun Takeuchi, the head of Research and Development at Capcom. He states that the company is working on two brand new franchises that are not ready to be revealed yet. However, Takeuchi does add that one of the new IPs will have people thinking “At this point, what the hell are you doing? What, are you stupid?” It was also hinted that the games will be revealed by this summer, and presumably released in the coming holiday season barring any delays.

Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle for more on these unknown games as the details trickle out.
