More White Knight Chronicles Officially Announced for the West

Be prepared to return to the land of White Knight Chronicles once again, for in just a few months two new games in the franchise will make it outside of Japan.

Originally released in July last year in Japan, White Knight Chronicles II will officially be coming out in Europe some time this May. While a US version has not been announced, the last game came out in both regions only a month apart so it may be revealed soon. Continuing the story of the first game, this brand new 30+ hour adventure will introduce a revamped combat system enabling you to create your own custom strategies and combos. The game will also feature online co-op up to six players, to roam the lands, complete quests, and even inhabit the expansive Georama town system.

But wait, that’s not all! Also announced, and coming out the same month will be White Knight Chronicles: Origins. Receiving a slightly less majestic localized name (rather than White Knight Chronicles Episode Portable: Dogma Wars), Origins still retains the major points. The game will take place 10,000 years in the past, with the White Knights not being too friendly. As we mentioned last June, this game actually isn’t being developed by franchise creator Level-5, but they are overseeing the project. It IS being created by renowned RPG developer Matrix Corp, so don’t worry. This new portable entry will have a sizeable 30+ hour campaign and allow up to 4 player online combat. You’ll even be able to trade quests and avatars between your friends.

As previously said, while this announcement is only for Europe so far, history tells us that a US announcement shouldn’t be all that far off, and importing from Europe isn’t a major hassle. If, or when that ever happens PlayStation LifeStyle will be the first to let you know.
