NIS Helps Disaster Victims With Disgaea 4 DLC

Joining other game publishers and developers who’ve also been helping in their own ways, Nippon Ichi software is preparing a small bit of DLC for Disgaea 4, to be released in April. Very appealing at only 100 yen (about $1.20, or less than the cost of a can of soda in Japan), all proceeds from the sale of this content — through the end of June — will go to the massive relief effort required in the wake of the much-discussed earthquake and tsunami.

The DLC comes in the form of a new character, Asagi (in the featured picture), who has appeared in several other Nippon Ichi games, often lamenting the fact that the dev refuses to cast her in a leading role. As if poking fun at its own creating, the company has given Asagi the job class “Other Game’s Protagonist?”, question mark included.

Disgaea 4 came out Feb. 24 in Japan and will hit North America this summer. There were also some new trading figurines released this week.
