Handhelds on the Move to PS3 with Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2

Compile Heart has officially announced a sequel to Hyperdimension Neptunia, entitled Mk-2. The world of Gameindustri is back and in trouble again, as it is threatened by Arfoire. Kids are confused while shops and people are craving more creativity. In steps three sisters, who in this game, are representing handheld consoles instead of home consoles this time around.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 features all-new main characters from the first game. Nepgear is the purple sister, Uni is the black, and Ram & Rom are the white sisters. All of these represent handhelds and should be fairly easy to see exactly which one they are designed after.

Compile Heart are promising upgraded graphics and a revamped battle system, something that was a problem in the first game. In Mk-2 you can make up parties with up to 4 characters and combine attacks via a system called Lily.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk-2 is set for release in Japan this August for the PlayStation 3. A story about handhelds being played on a console, it should be interesting.
