inFamous 2 Beta Extended… For Now

The inFamous 2 User Generated Content Beta program started in early April, but the PlayStation Network problems are leaving gamers all alone.

Play, Create, Share. This little mantra is a big part of the PlayStation lifestyle (bahhh), starting all the way with the first LittleBigPlanet back in 2008. Sucker Punch Productions shocked the world when they announced at GDC that their next title would continue with such capabilities. They announced the inFamous 2 UGC Beta for later in the year, and we reported to you when emails were being sent out and the beta went live. It was scheduled to run from April 12th through May 6th, but that seems to have changed. Just today on their Facebook page, the company announced their plans for the program.

We’ve decided to extend the beta. Once PSN is back up we’ll determine by how long, but rest assured: your outcry has been heard.

While you can technically play the game without connecting to the PSN, you aren’t able to connect to other user’s levels, or even create your own. Just run around New Marais and…do nothing else. How long do you think an extension would be? Exactly the same amount as the downtime? Through to the game’s launch on June 7th? As soon as we at PlayStation LifeStyle find out, you’ll be the first to know.
